Cheese themed Wednesday MenuIf you love cheese (and I know you do) this is the menu you’ve been waiting for. Each Wednesday in November, from 5pm-11pm, we are featuring one of the best foods to pair with beer: Cheese!

MENU

Poutine – $10
Pommes frites topped with melted Vermont cheese curds, mornay sauce, bacon & onions

Classic Queso Fundito – $8
Baked artisan jack cheese, charred jalapenos, homemade chorizo and grilled flour tortillas

Bacon Double Cheeseburger Soup – $7
Charred grilled crumbled burger, smoked apple wood bacon, Pilsner and artisan cheddar cheese. Served with shoe string pommes frites, diced tomatoes & onions

Assorted Cheese Plate – $12
Cheese of the day with dried fruits, honey and crusty bread

Deep Fried Cheese Curds – $8
Vermont cheese curds sprinkled with smoked paprika and buttermilk ranch dipping sauce

Grilled Cheese Sliders – $8
Manchego cheese, tomato confit & Jambon served on grilled rye bread with smoked tomato soup

Mac & Cheese – $13
Fontina, artisan Jack and Parmesan cheeses sprinkled with brioche crumbs and topped with port wine braised short ribs.

Raclette – $13
Melted raclette cheese over fingerling potatoes, Jambon, crispy vegetables and cornichons

Bistro Steak Frites – $15
Pan seared, topped with red wine reduction, crumbled Great Hills blue cheese and served with pommes frites

Oktoberfest Celebration 2012

Oktoberfest is always a big event at Olde Magoun’s Saloon, and this year we’re making it the biggest ever with 9 Oktoberfest beers on draught and great events throughout September and October.

Starting with:

September 5th: Paulaner Keg Tapping Ceremony

OktoberfestOn Wednesday September 5th at 8pm, join us as we tap a traditional keg of Paulaner Oktoberfest Weisn, the same beer they serve in the Paulaner tent in Munich. We bring out the wooden mallet and everything! We’re also giving away a complimentary glass! Lederhosen are optional.

German foodThrough September & October we’re featuring traditional Oktoberfest fare like Ruben Knockwurst, Jagerschnitzel, Bavarian Stew and more! We’ll also be featuring Oktoberfest beer promotions, so watch our Facebook and Twitter feeds for more info. Wear Lederhosen or a Dirndl and your first pint is on us!

German Inspired Sunday Roasts

SchweinschaxenAlso, through September & October our Sunday roasts will be traditional German roasts such as Schweinschaxen (crispy pork shank) with potato dumplings, cider-glazed cabbage, and mushroom pan sauce.

Oktoberfest Biergarten: September 15 from 12pm-6pm

Paulaner BiergartenOn September 15, we are taking over the CVS parking lot and turning it into an Oktoberfest Biergarten! Paulaner is driving in a truck with functioning taps of their Oktoberfest Marzen, Oktoberfest Weiss, Lager, Pilsner, Hefeweizen and Salvatore. We’ll have tents, picnic tables, and of course, we’ll be grilling up traditional Oktoberfest fare. This is the event you don’t want to miss. Sponsored by DigBoston and Drink Craft Beer.
