English Cask Ales in January & February 2014

greeneking460276We’ve partnered with our friends across the pond to bring you some incredible English casks over the next 8 weeks. These ales really highlight classic English brewing and ingredients served the way they were originally meant to be served.

Abbot Ale – 5.0%
Greene King’s flagship beer in the UK, Abbot combines fruit characters, a malty richness and a hop balance from classic English hop varietals, Challenger and Fuggles.

Old Speckled Hen – 5.2%
Named for a vintage MG car, “Hen” is one of England’s top-selling English beers. Malty toffee flavors from the pale and crystal malts are followed by a dry finish.

Ruddles – 4.3%
Named for England’s smallest county, Rutland. An English ale combining flavors of dark toffee and caramel with the crisp bitterness of the rarely-used Bramling Cross hops.

Greene King IPA – 5.0%
A classic interpretation of how the world’s original IPAs really tasted, with hop characteristics that are present without being overpowering
